課程目標:

1. 使學生瞭解表面物理化學在現今相關化學研究的應用,及其在未來表面催化研究的培養,使其能循序瞭解目前研究發展的趨勢。。
2. 使學生學習何謂真空技術、表面結構及相關分析技術、掃瞄探針式顯微鏡之應用、表面電子結構的探討,以期學生能掌握並應用於相關的表面化學分析技術。

課程概述:

本課程將討論表面物理化學性質,各種相關表面儀器的基本原理,以及金屬或金屬氧化物之表面催化反應為主要的教學範圍。講授課程包括表面物理性質,表面的成長過程,表面的組成,金屬表面的磁性,特殊的表面催化反應,表面反應的速率常數計算以及重要的電子轉移判斷。此外,本課程也會介紹各種相關的表面測量儀器,例如:UHV, XPS, UPS, HREELS, AES, SEXAFS, LEED, FEM/FIM, TPD, STM, AFM, and MBRS。我們也會請相關領域的業界教師來幫學生授課,共計六週。

The special topics of this course focus on properties of the physical chemistry of surfaces, the principle of every surface apparatus, as well as the catalytic reaction by metal and/or metal oxide surfaces. This course includes surface physical properties, surface growth, surface composition, the magnetism behavior of metal surface, specific catalytic reaction by surface, calclulation of the rate coefficient of surface reaction, and charge trasfer between adsorbate and substrate. In addition, we will also discuss some relevant apparatus, such as UHV, XPS, UPS, HREELS, AES, SEXAFS, LEED, FEM/FIM, TPD, STM, AFM, and MBRS。
