本課程從1945年第二次世界大戰結束,台灣歸還中華民國政府,復員接收拾期的官民協調與衝突講起,中華民國在台灣發展歷經風雨飄搖的40年代,勵精圖治的50年代,安定中求發展的60年代,突飛猛進的70年代,民主起步的80年代。今天的現狀,不是一蹴而成的空中樓閣,而是一步一腳印的奮鬥。
講授內容以近五、六十年來臺灣的政治發展、對外關係、經濟發展,以及文教、社會變遷等為主要內涵,並透過對於當代臺灣歷史書寫與文化論述的批評,討論臺灣史上之重要課題,期能培養學生整體而多元的歷史視野。
1.課程定位:本課程以「歐美漫畫史」研究為核心,探討相關作品與文獻。
2.課程內容:本課程以歐美漫畫歷史為綱,歐洲、美國漫畫各從四個時期探究:
歐洲漫畫:
(1)古代到文藝復興、宗教改革到專制主義時代
(2)法國大革命的政治漫畫、英國的政治與社會漫畫
(3)現代政治漫畫誕生與婦女權利

美國漫畫:
(1)白金時期:美國連環漫畫的誕生、漫畫新形式的發展與大蕭條時期警匪漫畫、西部漫畫等類型的興起。
(2)黃金時代:期刊連環漫畫的興起、第二次世界大戰與美國連環漫畫發展的關係、報紙連環漫畫的成熟期、麥卡錫主義造成的影響。
(3)白銀時代:連環漫畫的復興與漫威(Marvel)的崛起、 DC漫畫明星的誕生、跨掉的一代與前衛地下漫畫介紹。
(4)當代漫畫:美國報紙連環漫畫、期刊漫畫與漫畫電影介紹
3.課程教學:本課程依照課程大綱與主題,指定閱讀書籍與相關研究,加強同學對於漫畫史料的認識和解讀。課程進行方式分為(1)教師主題探討(2)學生專書/論文之口頭報告(3)課堂討論。
1. Course orientation: This course focuses on the research of "History of European and American Comics" and discusses related works and literature.
2. Course content: This course is based on the history of European and American comics.
European comics:
(1) From ancient times to the Renaissance, religious reforms to the era of authoritarianism.
(2) Political comics of the French Revolution, British political and social comics.
(3) The birth of modern political comics and Women's Rights.

American comics:
(1) The Platinum Period: The birth of American comic strips, the development of new forms of comic strips, and the rise of genre comic strips and western comic strips during the Great Depression.
(2) The Golden Age: The rise of serial comics in journals, the relationship between World War II and the development of comic strips in the United States, the maturity of newspaper comic strips, and the impact of McCarthyism.
(3) The Silver Age: The revival of comic strips and the rise of Marvel, the birth of DC comic stars, a generation that has passed away and an avant-garde underground comic introduction.
(4) Contemporary comics: American newspapers comic strips, periodical comics and comic films.
3.Course teaching: This course specifies reading archive European and American comic historical materials and related research according to the syllabus and theme, strengthens students' understanding and interpretation of archive comic historical materials, and takes the actual works and cases of art works as examples. The course is divided into (1) discussion of teachers' themes (2) oral reports of student special books / thesis (3) classroom discussion.
