The course covers basic principles of economics. It emphasizes the market mechanism for the allocation of resources, free trade to demonstrate relative advantages of regional specialization. It also covers the intervention of government to correct the failure of markets due to the existence of externality, imperfection of markets and the provision of public goods. In microeconomics, contents cover the derivation of demand curves and supply curves, the classification of markets and the characteristics of production factors. In macroeconomics, topics include macroeconomic measurement and its changes and trends, the basic macroeconomic model of aggregate supply curve and demand curve, the change of price levels, the trade off between unemployment and inflation in short-run, and economic policies and debates over them.

不動產估價這門學科在近年來隨著國內不動產估價師制度之建立及資產管理公司對估價的需求和金融機構不斷出現超貸冒貸案而愈趨重要，本課程將著重在不動產估價理論及估價方法之介紹，並輔以相關實務上之問題或案例及歷屆國家考試包括高普特考和不動產估價師證照考試之考古題做充實，以提供同學準備不動產相關證照考試或參加不動產相關類科國家考試（包括不動產經紀人及不動產估價師證照、公務人員高普特考等）有所幫助。另外將安排校外教學參訪民間不動產估價公司對估價實務運作狀況，並邀請具估價實務經驗專家學者進行專題演講，以使同學了解不動產估價師最新就業市場趨勢，為未來從事不動產估價相關行業做好準備。

環境科學是跨學門科學，包含生物、化學、物理、能源等資訊，除了自然環境外，人類與環境互動關係，如人類對環境的需求、使用、甚至破壞，也是本課程主要內容。本課程分為兩大部分，第一部份以人類與其他生物互相的關係為主，包括人口的變化、生物多樣性、生物多樣性的保育等。第二部份以自然能資源的介紹為主，包括土壤資源、水資源、糧食，以及可再生、不可再生資源等。期待同學們學習本課程後，對人類、環境、資源、自然生態有基本的認識與了解，並學習尊重、珍惜地球上的一切生命。

The second part begins from midterm and natural resources and energy are discussed, including soil resources, water resources, food, and renewable and nonrenewable resources. An expectation to students is that learning about the basic knowledge of human being, environment, natural resources, and biology. Further, students can give respects and cherish to all creatures on the Earth.
