本課程旨在自充滿色彩的生活環境中，
一、觀察分析日常食衣住行生活中的色彩傳播現象;
二、學習色彩基礎知識並與傳播理論結合，將之運用於設計與應用實務中;
三、討論分析色彩視覺認知與感覺的相關研究，增強實証研究基礎知識。
期能培養學生的色彩基礎理論、應用與論述能力，並可透過研究瞭解色彩認知感受對人類生活的影響，多方強化學生觀察、歸納與分析能力，培養能以實證研究為基礎，將色彩理論與實務應用相結合之知能。

本課程之目的在全方面，系統性的介紹有關色彩的知識與學問以及科學研究，奠定修課者在色彩基礎知識與美學應用的基礎。授課內容包括色彩科學研究基本理論的演進及其主要內涵 、色彩的物理科學、色彩的感覺與知覺、色彩視覺與觀測環境交互作用的實徵觀察以科學觀點探討色彩對人的心理狀態的影響、色彩的工業應用等。
修習本課程後學生所應能具備之基本能力: 認識色彩的學術研究以及科學的思維方式，並了解色彩學的專有學術名詞之內容概念。
This course is designed to comprehensively and systematically introduce scientific studies on chromatics and help the students acquire related knowledge, so as to give them a basic understanding of this subject and its aesthetic application as well. The course includes the general theory of chromatics (incl. its development and content), chromatic physics, chromatic perception, chromatic vision, empirical observation of the interplay between colors and their immediate surroundings, scientific investigation into the influence of colors on human mental state, and the industrial application of colors.
The basic competence that the students are expected to gain after completing the course is familiarity with academic research on chromatics, scientific thinking, and chromatic terminology.

本堂課透過數位影音軟體的操作使用，以及數位影音剪輯介面的操作，針對其中的調光、字幕、聲音、影像特效進行軟體操作教學，以及所謂的生成式影片與時俱進進行教學；並適時加入剪接、影像概念、剪輯軟體以 Pr 介面的操作應用為主，並搭配剪及理論加以說明輔助。
